SAHRA Sprint Results

First Rally Sprint for 2011

The 2011 Rallystar Rallysprint series got off to a good start at the Rallystar on Saturday . Altogether 20 teams took each other on over four tests, two Super Special stages of of 3,3km each and two very testing stages of 11kms each.

Newcomers to the Rallysprint series, Dewald Hatting and co-driver, D Pieterse, won Class D in a BMW325. Hatting, who has been a regular competitor on off-road events have decided to try his hand at rallying and seems to already be very competitive.

The SAHRA sideways brigade were well represented with Lood and Lian de Clerque leading the field with and 9^th overall position and 3^rd in class B. Andre Stander and Johan van der Merwe came in at 11 overall and 4^th in class C. Jan Fritz and Theuns Viljoen came in at 12^th overall and 5^th in class C. Bertie and Rowen Coetzer came in at 14^th overall and 6^th in class C. JJ Strydom and HJ Nortje with a Ford Siera came in at 16^th overall and 6^th in class D. Sarel Coetzer and Stephan Venter came 17^th overall and 4^th in class B. Hendrik Pienaar and David de Meer came 19^th overall and 7^th in class D.
